A Blog With No Name

Welcome To My Stop on the Bunny Hop!

Posted on: March 5, 2011

Welcome to the Bunny Hop!

Are you all ready to hop into Spring???

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.
~Henry Van Dyke

Welcome to my blog!  I hope you enjoy your visit!

Today you are embarking on a long, long  journey…..a journey of exploration and inspiration!

Operation Write Home is an outstanding enterprise, and I am proud to be a very small part of it.

Here are a couple of Easter cards that I made for OWH.  I call them “Sweet and Simple.”

Easter Cards

Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life. ~S.D. Gordon

The patterned paper is from a kit I bought from Oriental Trading Company, at least four or five years ago.
The sentiments are vellum quotes that have been chalked around the edges.

Don’t forget the following OWH Deadlines:

Easter Cards have to be in by March 18

Mother’s Day Cards must be done by March 31

Check out this awesome video featuring words of thanks from the servicemen and women who receive OWH cards.  It will inspire you!
Listen Up!  (AKA OWH Biker Chicks)

As you can see, my blog has no name.  I propose a contest.  Let’s call it “NAME THAT BLOG!”
Make a suggestion, and if I choose your name for my blog, I will send you an envelope full of card-making goodies!

Grand Prize!

Papers and Ribbons and Buttons! Oh My!

But the fun is not over yet!  (Don’t worry, I’m almost through!  I know you have a LONG way to travel)  Here’s some BLOG CANDY!  (I had to actually google “Blog Candy” to find out what it was.)  Here’s a photo of the goodies I’m going to send to the maker of a randomly selected comment.  This is in addition to the prize I’m sending to the clever namer of blogs, so if your brain is as worn out from winter as mine is, you still have a chance to win freebies.  So let me know you’re out there, and God Bless as you hop through this weekend!

I love you Henry Van Dyke quote! That’s a great way to open your terrific post for today’s hop!

Beautiful card!!

Lovely spring cards! I am always at a loss at how to use vellum and make it look nice. You did a great job with it in these. Enjoy the hop!

But I like the name —- reminds me of the America song….”horse with no name”…

LOL That’s the idea. Maybe I’ll keep it after all!

TFS your creations and participating in the blog hop. :o) How about “Cards, quotes, and antidotes”?

Hahahaha!!!! I LOVE it! Thanks for the great suggestion!

too funny! Love your cards! Vellum always gives a great touch to a card! Thanks for creating for this cause!- Amanda (#61)

Definitely sweet and simple, but – they express the right sentiment for Easter! 🙂

Hmmm a name…I kinda like what you have! It’s certainly memorable 🙂

Happy hopping!

Super Cute Cards~!

I also like the name of your blog and your cards. Thanks for sharing and participating in the blog hop!

Pretty cards. No suggestion for a name, but hope you come up with a good one!

Love the vellum sentiments!!

Pretty cards – love the colors. As for the name, well, I thought “A Blog With No Name” was the name and I thought that was pretty cute, but since I don’t guess I can win for suggesting what you already have I will suggest the title of one of your posts:

Keep Calm and Carry On

Both cards are great. TFS.

I love your cards. A name that I think would be perfect for your blog after looking at your cards would be: ” Keep it Simple, Just Create”

cstephenson@q.com

LOL ! Love it all!
Thank you!

Beautiful!!!!

Cute! And as a military wife, let me say thank you for donating your creations to OWH!

I love your ‘sweet and simple’ style–and I nominate ‘Clever Cardstock’ for your blog’s new name. Good luck finding the right moniker!

Thanks for doing this Hop for OWH

Mindy

Lovely cards! What about Sweet and Simple Stamping if that’s your usual style? Thanks for the chance to win!

Beautiful cards! TFS:)

Beautiful cards. I love the inking around the vellum! I too, like this name or maybe something like….. Simply Edie. Thank you for the chance to win!!

Thanks for sharing your talent with us. I like Sweet and Simple for a blog name.

Love your sweet and simple cards!!!!

Linda

Such pretty, soft cards. I really like the look of the vellum on those pretty papers. Thanks for sharing your ideas and your blogs!

Very pretty cards and colors!

Really cute cards. Thanks for sharing!

thanks for sharing your cards along the hop, great work!
and thanks for a chance for the blog candy. (too tired from hopping to think of a great name for your blog…)

sweet is right!! Love these cards!!! and love the name of your blog too, LOL!! 😉

Hi Edie, glad to hear you are also a Virginian, living not tooo far away in the Northern Neck! I was just down that way last fall and it was beautiful. I thought “A Blog With No Name” was so cute but then I also like “Sweet and Simple.” Happy bloghopping!

Nice cards! I reallly like the name you have for your blog now!

I say keep the name of no name – it’s different! there’s a blog out there called – all the good blog names were taken! Really, name it what you do, CARDS CARDS AND MORE or something like that.
You quote is funny since we’ve had a start of spring, then snow today!

I like your sweet and simple cards.

Reading through your posts, the ‘Grab and Scrap’ method jumped out. However, you also do cards. So, how about, ‘Grab What You Can and Create.’

Oh, and Henry has spring nailed!

Sweet and simple are my favorite kind of cards! Yours are great!

The cards should be called sweet, simple and sensational! I really love how you worked the vellum…I have a ton I need to use and yours turned out great. I peeked at your other postings, and they also look great! I love Hambo Stamps, too! My mind isn’t functioning well enough after visiting so many blogs, but I’m sure someone will have a winner for you. Thanks for supporting OWH!

Lovely cards…. a “Sweet and Simple Blog”???

Beautiful cards, especially the colors and the beautiful calligraphy sentiments. I suggest “Sentiment-al Journey” for your blog (or some variation of it). “Sentiments” for what’s on the cards, and for the wonderful quotes you use. They are quotable because they speak to our hearts and maybe even make us think. Thank you for gifting us with your heart.

I like the name as it is… But since you like things simple… You could go with K.I.S.S (Keep It Sweet & Simple)…

Great job on your cards… Thanks so much for sharing your talent in the OWH Bunny Hop!!

Pretty cards. If you plan on making all cards how about …Cards with a purpose
or..
keep the one you have, I thought it was unique and cute and it got me singing the horse with no name song. :0)

They are, absolutely, just that… sweet and simple! LOVE ’em! TFS!

I love your cards. Thanks for sharing them.
